Mark and Gena Sizemore invested in a small, bare piece of land in central Illinois In 2005, with dreams of raising their children on a farm. In the years to come they watched as the very first board and nail in their house became a home, a barn, a fence, and the very farm they had envisioned years prior.
Inspired by their third child Isaiah and his adoration for farming and animals, the Sizemore family slowly started growing a small cattle herd. Named IMS Cattle after Isaiah, the impact of studying, raising, and caring for angus cattle has had a profoundly positive impact on the entire family as a whole. It truly has become a family run operation with everyone on the farm lending a helping hand or offering a thoughtful improvement.
With Isaiah dedication and attention to detail, He strives to build an Angus genetic herd in Illinois. Alongside His Father and Grandfather, their focus is quality purebred livestock. With sharp instincts and education, they have selected only the Angus breed’s most valued individuals and have created a herd of some of the most genetically superior females.
Following the belief that a solid uniform program is built from the foundation, IMS Cattle uses time tested methods and proven cow genetics to strengthen their program. Livestock are selected with phenotype, EPDs performance with growth, fertility and maternal traits for a well-balanced and functional specimen. Herd sires are bred to deliver calving ease with growth and carcass EPDs ranking in the very top of the Angus breed.
